I believe when Wall Street crashed, economy lunges down, trees are brought down, icebergs are melting away and Singapore faces a ratio of older population and younger population at 2:1 all we need is basically each other.
The Mayan Tribes were able to survive in the forest without the google box, or caviars or even the latest Coach bag. The African tribes were able to live in dusty, dry treachorous environment. Yet they survive.
What do we need for survival?
Comfort? Luxury? Are we living in a world of
WANT rather than your basic essential
NEED?But are we able to live in solitude? Life uncut from others?
We claimed self independence in our lives. You call 999 just to hear another voice on the other line to know that you are not alone in this world. You're patheticly looking for assurance in your life. Still independent beings?
Perhaps Ipod, LCD TVs do give excitement in life. But how far will it go with you in life since techonology is always updated?
I like to point out that in anytime of crisis, when it hits ground zero, the people around you are the only elements that you need to survive. Be concerned and compassionate about others. We're living in a network chain where the slightest action affects a singular atom. Think.
The way to being green, is to
THINK + CARE. The way to sustainability is to
THINK + CARE. My life depends on you. Your life depends on me. If we want to change the world, we should start to
THINK + CARE about others.
